After many years of playing this vibrant jazz and organizing jam sessions, we finally landed on a festival as the best way to celebrate and share it with a whole new audience. Well, this is why Django Feszt was born.
A celebration of jazz manouche in Budapest, this festival pays homage to guitar legend Django Reinhardt and his music. It aims to unite a community of local jazz musicians with their devoted fans, while also engaging those less familiar with the unique delights of jazz manouche.
Kobuci Kert provides the beautiful setting to this special event. The venue is situated in the courtyard (kert means garden in Hungarian) of the Zichy Palace in Óbuda, a charming old part in the western half of Budapest, north to the old Buda Castle. Hidden under great old trees and historical walls, with a great variety of local, fresh food and drinks, most especially fröccs which is a lifesaver in the summer heat.
Jazz manouche was born in a very special community and will only be kept alive by one. Join us for the next chapter of its story!
